Trump-Linked Crypto Firm ALT5 Sigma Faces Scrutiny Over Unlicensed Auditor
ALT5 Sigma, a Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency firm with ties to former President Donald Trump, is under renewed regulatory scrutiny after appointing an auditor barred from conducting audits due to an expired license. The Texas-based accounting firm Victor Mokuolu CPA PLLC cannot perform audit work until its lapsed license is renewed, compounding compliance issues for ALT5 Sigma after missing its Q3 filing deadline.
State records show the auditor's firm license expired in August and remained inactive as of late December. While founder Victor Mokuolu renewed his personal CPA license in August, the firm itself cannot issue financial statements until regulatory compliance is restored. ALT5 Sigma confirmed no audit reports will be issued during this period.
The development follows ALT5 Sigma's replacement of its previous auditor after failing to meet SEC filing deadlines. Regulators have previously fined the company's auditing partners for repeated reporting violations, highlighting ongoing governance risks in crypto-linked public companies.
